community services and welfare
local government
urban planning
agriculture and primary industries
community gardens, Permaculture and organic food industries and organisations
food and hospitality industries
media
education
ethicists and religious organisations
concerned and interested individuals.

The right to choose

Food is seemingly abundant in Sydney, yet there are segments of the city’s population that do not have access to enough good food on a regular basis. As poverty is a strong factor influencing health, people who suffer the poorest health and who could benefit most from a better diet are unable to afford, find or use the freshest food.

Food security is a human right. Healthy choices should be easy choices for everyone.

In the public interest

The Food Fairness Alliance (FFA) promotes the principles of:
social justice
community development
human rights
sustainability.

The Alliance acts in the public interest by engaging in advocacy, education, research, and networking. The FFA encourages government, communities and business to work together to deliver programs that will:
allow people to enjoy seasonal, quality food from the region
educate people about the importance of a wide range of foods, in particular fruits and vegetables, to good health
encourage an understanding of the importance of a range of foods, in particular fruits and vegetables, to good health
increase public knowledge of the importance of a healthy and productive agriculture in the Sydney Basin and its contribution to our quality of life.
